The Gardien

I found myself staring at an old painting that had never quite come to life. I turned it over, and my eyes followed the leftover paint scattered across the back. I stayed with it until a star-eye appeared on the right. The piece carried the cold breath of northern winds. My hand moved with it, following its traces with my brush, and a face slowly gathered around it. One side settled into presence, while the other unfolded in spirals and flowing curves, as if something were breathing itself into form. In the end, a creature revealed itself, leaning toward the man’s right ear, carrying messages, guidance, and protection.
