Iris: The Forest

Painted in Bayonne, France | December 2025 | 38 x 55 cm | Watercolor on 300g Paper.

I woke up in a meditative state, and the image was already there as my eyes opened. On paper, I felt goosebumps, then I followed my hand with the brush. A circle formed in the center, blues and greens opening into the depth of a forest. I added the pupil, and a wave of small dots gathered around it, like a living current. From a distance, it felt like the eye of a vast creature coming alive, reflecting the forest back to me, grounding, calm, and mysterious.
